1) I chose this story because its not every day that a man kills his wife on a honeymoon, and the couple is from Birmingham, Alabama.
2) The news values are: immediacy (the trial was set on the 1st of February), proximity (it will take place in Birmingham), novelty (it is crazy that this is happening 5 years after the wife died, and he spent time in an Australia jail, and got remarried), and emotions (this makes me feel sad and angry that people can do this, and it takes so long to get them in court.)
3) The lead definitely worked, because it comes as a relief to know that this man will hopefully be held accountable for his actions.
4) There were no questions left unanswered, and this is a follow up story to an incident that happened 5 years ago.
